Nus is about 15 km far from Aosta, the main town, and from Saint-Vincent( well-known for its Casino and Thermal Baths) the second most important village in the area.
It takes its name from the Latin word Nonus which means 9 miles from Augusta Praetoria, the present town of Aosta. This is a pretty small town which is rich in cultural and important Roman, Mediaeval, prehistoric sites among the most relevant in Europe. The strategic position of Nus makes it possible to get to the main ski resorts: Pila( by cable car from Aosta ) , Courmayeur, Breuil-Cervinia, La Thuile. In addition to this, if you are a nature lover, the marvellous Gran Paradiso Park, Mont Avic Park, both famous for their fauna and flora, are at a reasonable distance as well.
From France:
motorway A5 Courmayeur- Aosta - Nus (exit toll).
From Switzerland:
out of the tunnel Gran san Bernardo, follow the direction Aosta and then take the national road 26 direction Turin.
In case you use public transportation:
there is a bus stop on the national road n. 26 (about 100 metres from the city centre); the railway station is nearby as well.
